Replace an existing gas water heater with a heat pump water heater, NEEA Tier III or IV. Requires a thermostatic mixing valve.

Must use a participating contractor in the SMUD Contractor Network (SMUDContractorNetwork.org)

Incentive Amounts:

  • 50 gallon or less = $3,000
  • 65 gallon = $3,500
  • 80 gallon or larger = $4,000
