REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be a TECH-enrolled contractor
  2. Project must be a non-heat pump to heat pump installation
  3. No new construction, retrofits only.
  4. Equipment Requirements:
    • Variable Capacity or 2-speed Only (No single speed)
    • The outdoor unit/compressor must be listed on Energy Star.
    • The indoor unit must be listed on AHRI,
    • Ideally the outdoor and indoor unit are listed as a matched pair in Energy Star or AHRI. In situations where the indoor unit is not listed as a matched pair with the outdoor unit, the indoor unit must be AHRI certified, and a letter, email, or other documentation from both the outdoor unit and indoor unit manufacturers documenting that they are compatible and have performance values that are comparable with Energy Star SEER2 and HSPF2 requirements.
