Eligible incentives:
Unitary Heat Pump Water Heater Incentive: $3,100
Low-GWP Kicker Incentive: $1,500
55+ Gallon Capacity Incentive: $700
Requirements:
- Work must be done by a TECH-enrolled contractor
- Project must be a non-heat pump to heat pump installation
- No new construction, retrofits only.
- Customer must enroll in demand response (DR) program
- Customer must enroll in time-of-use (TOU) program
Heat Pump Water Heater Incentive can be combined with Electrical & Pre-Electrification Upgrades:
Up to $2,000 (capped at 50% of reported cost up to $2,000 for general market)
Single family market rate heat pump water heater funds are currently unavailable for electric Investor-Owned Utility customers in PG&E service area, publicly owned utility electric customers, and SMUD electric customers.

Eligible Electrical & Pre-Electrification Upgrades include:
- Replacement, upgrade, or relocation of a main service panel (up to 200 amps)
- Installation of a smart load center/circuit breaker
- Installation of a subpanel
- Upgrade of a behind-the-meter feeder and/or secondary disconnect/dwelling unit main disconnect
- Relocation of the heat pump water heater
- Additional plumbing and wiring upgrades
- Venting alterations or additions
- Replacement, repair, or seal of flooring, walls, or ceiling in cases of leakage or improper venting
