Eligible incentives:

Unitary Heat Pump Water Heater Incentive: $3,100 

Low-GWP Kicker Incentive: $1,500 

55+ Gallon Capacity Incentive: $700

 

Requirements: 

  1. Work must be done by a TECH-enrolled contractor
  2. Project must be a non-heat pump to heat pump installation
  3. No new construction, retrofits only.
  4. Customer must enroll in demand response (DR) program
  5. Customer must enroll in time-of-use (TOU) program

 

Heat Pump Water Heater Incentive can be combined with Electrical & Pre-Electrification Upgrades:

Up to $2,000 (capped at 50% of reported cost up to $2,000 for general market)

Single family market rate heat pump water heater funds are currently unavailable for electric Investor-Owned Utility customers in PG&E service area, publicly owned utility electric customers, and SMUD electric customers.

Eligible Electrical & Pre-Electrification Upgrades include:

  1. Replacement, upgrade, or relocation of a main service panel (up to 200 amps)
  2.  Installation of a smart load center/circuit breaker
  3.  Installation of a subpanel
  4.  Upgrade of a behind-the-meter feeder and/or secondary disconnect/dwelling unit main disconnect
  5.  Relocation of the heat pump water heater
  6.  Additional plumbing and wiring upgrades
  7.  Venting alterations or additions
  8.  Replacement, repair, or seal of flooring, walls, or ceiling in cases of leakage or improper venting
