City of Palo Alto residents are eligible for a rebate of $3,500 for a Heat Pump Water Heater replacing a gas water heaters. $500 rebate is available for electric water heaters that are replaced with heat pump water heaters.

- Proof of meter removal required. Applicant must have submitted the Gas Utility Disconnection for Electrification Form and received a confirmation email form Utilities Customer Service.

Requirements
Heat Pump Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HP HVAC) Rebate eligibility requirements:
- Must replace an existing gas, propane, oil, or wood stove heater/furnace. Replacement of electric heaters and fireplaces are not eligible.
- All fully electric HP HVAC systems qualify, regardless of types and configuration (packaged/split, ducted/ductless, single/multi-zoned), amperage, tonnage, or efficiency rating. Dual-fuel systems with gas heat as backup do not qualify.
- The heat pump must have a 15 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating or higher, and an 8.5 HSPF (Heat Seasonal Performance Factor) or higher.
- Limited to one HP HVAC rebate per electric account.

Save $1,000 - Rebate on Panel Upgrades
Requirements
Electric Panel Upgrade Add-On Rebate eligibility requirements:
- Can include replacement, upgrade, or relocation of a main service panel, installation of a subpanel, and/or installation of a smart load center that is necessary for the installation of a new HPWH or HP HVAC.
- Panel replacements that maintain the same amperage are eligible.
- If the panel replacement increases the amperage of the electrical panel, the new panel’s amperage must not exceed 200 amps.
- The electrical panel upgrade must take place within 6 months of the HPWH or HP HVAC installation to qualify.
- This rebate is an add-on rebate, not a standalone rebate, and therefore cannot be applied for on its own. The rebate is applied for at the same time as a HPWH and/or HP HVAC application.
- Limited to one panel upgrade rebate per electric account.

Requirements
Attic/Roof Insulation Add-on Rebate Eligibility:
- Acceptable Insulation Materials include: Fiberglass Batts, Blown Fiberglass, Cellulose, Dense Pack Cellulose, Rockwool, Spray Foam, Rigid Foam, Mineral/Stone Wool, Natural Fiber, or recycled textiles.
- Insulation must meet R-30 or better for attic insulation. For Eichler homes and homes with a flat roof, insulation must meet R-19 or better.
- This rebate is an add-on rebate, not a standalone rebate, and therefore cannot be applied for on its own. The rebate is applied for at the same time as a HPWH and/or HP HVAC application.
- Insulation upgrade must take place within 6 months of the HPWH or HP HVAC installation to qualify.

Requirements
Prewiring, Wiring, and Circuit Splitter/Pauser Device Add-on Rebate Eligibility Requirements:
- All circuits must be wired to the source (wire and breaker).
- Circuit pausers or splitters are eligible.
- Must be installed in compliance with the California Electrical Code.
- This rebate is an add-on rebate, not a standalone rebate, and therefore cannot be applied for on its own. The rebate is applied for at the same time as a HPWH and/or HP HVAC application.
- Pre-wiring must take place within 6 months of the HPWH or HP HVAC installation to qualify.
- Must serve a new HPWH or HP HVAC system.

Requirements
To be eligible for the Building Electrification program, you must meet these qualifications.
- Be an SCE residential electric customer with an active, individually metered account
- Live in a single-family home or a building with 4 or fewer units (duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes can qualify if individually metered)
- Your home must currently have a gas or propane furnace and water heater that can be replaced by high efficiency heat pump equipment
- Meet program income eligibility guidelines
- Estimated energy bill impacts must either lower or not change current household energy costs
